My Cute Baby

I have to take a moment and spotlight Jaxon a little bit. He is at one of my favorite kid-ages where he says the funniest, silliest things. I have always loved this age because they are big enough to communicate, but not big enough to completely understand the world around them. Every day he makes me laugh, usually several times and he has the funniest mannerisms that Matt and I giggle together about. He is definitely our baby so we go gaga over everything he says and does. So here are a some of his latest cutenesses:
1. The other day he was counting in Spanish: Uno, Ghost, Tres. Tori and I had a great laugh about that one!
2. A few weeks ago Jaxon started talking about his dreams. The first one had something to do with a whale and he talked about it for a couple of days. Then the next one he dreamed that he left Mommy and bad guys came and got him but then Jacob saved him. I thought that one was pretty sweet.
3. The othere day Matt said, "Jaxon, you're a nice kid."
Jaxon's reply: "And when I get older, I'm gonna be a nice Daddy, just like you!" Awwwww!
4. Matt has always teased Jaxon by asking him who he likes better and then gives him a choice between two family members, usually Mommy and Daddy. Over time Jaxon has learned to say, "You and Mommy and Cole and Tori and Jacob are the bestest!" And now he says it to me all the time completely unprovoked. He starts to tell me that I'm the bestest but then has to add everyone else.
5. Jaxon is a very sweet kid and is constantly telling me that I'm the "bestest mom in the whole wide world" or he'll give me a big hug and say, "I love you soooo much!" It just melts my heart and I feel so lucky because he says stuff like that all the time!
6. Yesterday I was helping him put on his socks and this was our conversation:
Jaxon: Mommy, I'm so proud of you and Daddy and Tori and Jacob.
Me: Why? Why are you proud of us?
Jaxon: I'm just so happy about my family!
And then he gives me a big hug.
7. A couple of weeks ago he started this excuse for everything and he says, "Daddy said yes" or "Daddy said no." He'll randomly say this to any question I ask him. For example,
Me: Jaxon, why did you make this big mess?" Jaxon: Cuz Daddy said yes. Me: Daddy said you could make this huge mess? Jaxon: Yep!
Me: No, Jaxon, you can't have any more chocolate milk. Jaxon: But Daddy said yes!
Me: Jaxon, you need to get dressed. Jaxon: Daddy said no, I don't have to.
After the first few days of this I called Matt up at work and asked him if he'd been having conversations with Jaxon that I wasn't aware of. He had a good laugh when I explained. Now he's carried it over to Jacob or Tori say yes or no to something. It's quite cute.
8. About a month ago Jaxon learned the first Article of Faith and repeats it on demand. It's so darling hearing something so serious come out of his little mouth. He is supposed to repeat it for Primary this Sunday, but I'm afraid he's going to be stubborn about doing in front of so many people. We'll see.
That's about it for now but I'm sure there will be many Jaxonisms to come!
