As I've checked out many of my friends' blogs and their fun fall activities, I've been horribly jealous by the lush, bounteous pumpkin patches that have been posted. So I thought I'd share a picture of our dead, dried up Vegas pumpkin patch. It's the only pumpkin patch I know of around these parts - as I've stated before, vegetation is rare here. So aside from the fact that it's hot and barren, I'm sure the large Vegas population picked all the pumpkins early in the season. This picture was taken a week or two before Halloween. Jacob's class took a field trip to a nearby "orchard" and "pumpkin patch" and all of the children were sorely disappointed as they picked shriveled-up apples from the ground and searched through the patch in vain for a pumpkin - they didn't find a single one. It truly was a sad sight. My mom was with us on the fieldtrip, as were several other moms, and we all felt so sorry for the poor children who defnitely imagined something very different than what they experienced. So does anyone feel sorry for us yet? I have to admit, living in the desert will have its perks soon - I'm sure it won't be too long before I'm bragging about the warm winter and blue skies. (Thanks for the picture, Mom!!)

I am laughing so hard that I am crying. That is such a sad photo of a dusty, dried up pumpkin patch. Now, if you have moved to NY you could have enjoyed a lush experience.
The other great thing about the picture is Jacob being in shorts... Only in the desert.
LOL! Too FUNNY! Love it!
That is why I don't live in Vegas LOL I am a green vegetation kind of girl. Oregon for me :)
To funny, you would think they could buy some and fill up the patch to make it look someone healthy
