For Cole's 12th birthday in May, Matt and Jacob flew to New York to spend some time with him and Matt's mom. They had such a great time together! I wish I had more to journal than that, but since it was Matt's trip, he's got all the specifics. But here are a few pictures of their fun.
For Cole's birthday, Matt's mom took them to Seabreeze, which is an amusement park that the boys love. They ran from one ride to another and rode some of the rides multiple times. They didn't have to slow down for anyone - what a dream day for them!
This was a pretty intense ride and went upside-down. You can see Cole's horror on his face! He was so freaked out, but I was proud of him for even going! I stood in line for this ride last summer with Jacob and was sick to my stomach just thinking about it. But when we got to the front, Jacob wasn't tall enough to go. I was so relieved!!! So Jacob was thrilled that he grew a little over this past year and was able to go this time.
On Sunday Matt was able to ordain Cole a deacon so they took pictures in their snazzy Sunday outfits.
They took some time to visit Matt's dad's grave and plant flowers. They miss him so much and still, almost two years later, talk about him all the time! 
The last day they were there, Matt and Jacob were able to see Cole play in the marching band for a Memorial Day parade. They were very impressed!!!

Awesome Pictures!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad that Matt and Jacob could go be with Cole for his 12th birthday! What a wonderful experience! I especially love the picture of Matt, the boys and his mom! What a beautiful picture! Goodness I can't believe Cole is old enough to hold the Aaronic Priesthood. I feel sooooo old! I knew him as a baby! CRAZINESS! Thanks for sharing! Miss you guys!
I wish I had gone to New York too! I just would not have gone on all the roller coasters!
